LA ISLA LADY MUSGRAVE EN AUSTRALIA

La isla Lady Musgrave la  segunda isla de mayor tamaño en la Gran Barrera de Coral, después de la isla Lady Elliot. Está situada al norte de Brisbane y su acceso más sencillo es llegar en barco desde la ciudad 1770 en Queensland, Australia.

Toda la isla es un parque nacional y se permite acampar (máximo 40 personas). Dado que la isla está fuera del “cono lumínico” de las ciudades costeras, la observación del cielo durante la noche conforma un espectáculo maravilloso.

Hay un gran número de aves que habitan la isla. Gaviotas, gaviotines y golondrinas de mar anidan en la isla. La isla es un sitio donde las tortugas verdes y caguama depositan sus huevos, ( por lo general un grupo de voluntarios que investigan las tortugas durante la época de anidación y eclosión.

Pequeños tiburones de arrecife de punta blanca a menudo se encuentran cazando en las aguas poco profundas alrededor de la isla. Una laguna salada ubicada en el norte de la isla es un refugio para multitud de especies de peces y corales, y un destino espectacular para cualquier persona interesada en practicar snorkeling.
